Description
Booderee Velvet Drift captures the quiet movement of Jervis Bay’s underwater world. Its flowing form reflects the soft sway of seaweed gardens, and echoes the red velvetfish, a shy creature known for its rich colour and gentle motion.
I hand‑cut, kiln‑formed, and cold‑worked this piece in my Batemans Bay studio. Each curve holds a sense of coastal rhythm. Light moves across the orange/red glass and creates warm tonal shifts. These changes mimic sunlight drifting through shallow water. Every angle reveals a new gesture or moment of stillness.
This sculpture suits interiors that value nature, movement, and calm. It brings a soft coastal energy into the home. It also stands as a reminder of the beauty hidden beneath the surface. The colours and curves honour the deep connection between habitat and sea.
Booderee Velvet Drift is a one‑of‑a‑kind artwork. It carries intention, care, and the slow craft of kiln‑formed glass.
