Description
Tomakin Cove Glass Sculpture is inspired by the clear blue‑green water of the Cove. I start each piece by cutting clear glass into interlocking shapes. These shapes leave small gaps that let light move through the work. I then add blue and green glass powders to reflect the colours seen along the shoreline. As the glass fires, the colours blend into soft coastal tones that form the base of the sculpture.
After the first firing, the fused sheet is placed on a stainless‑steel form. It returns to the kiln for slow shaping. During this stage, the glass softens and drapes over the form. This gentle movement creates smooth curves and clean lines. Because the shaping relies on heat and gravity, each piece develops its own natural flow. The result is a form that feels open, balanced and connected to the landscape.
The finished sculpture brings cool colour and coastal clarity to any space. Its light structure suits both modern and natural interiors. In addition, the blue and green tones create a calm and refreshing presence. The open design also makes the piece easy to style in many settings. This Tomakin Cove glass sculpture reflects the beauty of the South Coast and the simple elegance of handcrafted fused glass.
