Description
Radiance
When I created Radiance, I wanted to honour the colour, strength, and movement of Australian native flora. As I began shaping the piece, I started with a deep green base that reflects the grounding presence of leaves and stems. As the form rises, it shifts into soft coral‑pink tones that remind me of blossoms opening in warm sunlight. Because of this gentle transition, the colours feel alive and full of energy, echoing the vibrancy I see in the bushland around my home.
Every curve in Radiance is shaped by hand and heat. I love the way glass responds to patience and intention, and this piece grew slowly in the kiln as layers of powder fused, softened, and settled into place. I watched the colours merge and develop a sense of movement that felt both organic and intentional. As a result, the vase holds a blooming, luminous quality that shifts beautifully with the light.
When you place Radiance in a gallery, studio, or home, it brings botanical warmth and a quiet sense of elegance. Its silhouette invites reflection and connection, and it naturally draws the eye. Even so, the piece keeps a calm presence that suits a wide range of spaces. In many settings, it becomes a focal point because of its colour, shape, and expressive form.
I created Radiance as part of a series celebrating Australia’s botanical heritage. Each piece explores a different aspect of native flora, from structure and colour to movement and light. Therefore, this vase carries both artistic intention and emotional meaning. More than décor, Radiance tells a story in glass — one shaped by my hands, my landscape, and the natural world that inspires me every day.
